Malai cake is a type of chinese steamed sponge cake that is popular among the cantonese community. Made with mainly simple ingredients like eggs, sugar and flour, this cake is steamed until it is super light and fluffy. Also known as ma lai go or ma lai gao, it translates to Malay cake where “Malay” is an abbreviation of the word “Malaysia” in cantonese.

Cooking Instructions:
Steam (Recommended)
- Prepare water in a pot and bring to a boil.
- Pour some oil on a plate and place frozen dim sum on it.
- Steam for approximately 8 minutes. Actual time may vary depending on your steamer.
- Carefully remove from steamer and enjoy!
Microwave
- Place dim sum together with the included plastic tray in the microwave and cook on HIGH for 1 minute PER piece*.
- Carefully remove tray from the microwave and enjoy!
